I was unemployed for 9 years. Strangely, being unemployed is a full time job. People have very weird hang-ups, like you don't deserve weekends, or you have no right to say no to them volunteering your help because "you're not doing anything". I think most people see work as a collective punishment we all have to endure, or else they have to admit to themselves that modern employment isn't fair or meritocratic (but that can't be... right?)
