Sink
Learn to swim in the Atlantic,
And you’ll see,
There’s not a single drop.
No waves to hold you up,
No tide to help you glide,
No; there’s nothing to keep you safe.
Nothing to keep you above,
From the trenches,
The valleys,
The dips and drops.
No; fall,
Into the black.
Krakens,
Those are what they are,
All around you,
A well of squirming,
Spiralling suckers.
Down.
Down.
Down.
Into the depths,
And out through the core,
Where you find more.
Misshapen forms,
Skittering,
Startled,
Scared,
Of your intrusions;
Your callous.
They’ll watch and wonder,
Where you’re going,
For you have yet to notice,
You’re phasing through.
On,
On,
On,
And you’re up.
Through the sand,
On the shore.
You never swam,
You never went,
What a failure you are.
No one will believe where you’ve been,
So go home,
And tell the story,
To no one who cares.
